IM AS MAD AS HELL!!
Hello Recently i got new wi-fi router from netgear on Dec 11 i think so . my internet connection was fine till 22nd . but recently my broadband connection is constantly giving me problems . the phone line is also dead since many days , i am sick of complaining to the BSnL Guys again and again . the main problem is with my phone , the line is most of the time disturbed and i have to pick up the reciever always in order to keep the connection *alive* everytime they say they *Fixed* the connection it works for 1 day and boom . next day the problem arises again . i was starting to think that does my router has any problems ? does it ?

also 90% of the times the ADSL line keeps on blinking , and the phone makes Gharr Gharr Noise ,

Does this problem has any solution?
Anyone Else having this problem?

I am really annoyed with my internet conection , really !

your phone line is culprit.Bribe the line men and get it repaired properly.

Though my suggestion is illegal but you have no better option to have your work done.

Wire muncher!
Get hold of BSNL men to come over and replace the cable from your junction box to the pole. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

And how is that supposed to help??!

Telephone line has a potential of about 50V DC (and gets an AC signal when a call comes). Its a BAD idea to short the line.

Check the wire that comes into your house. Search for any open unprotected region of the wire. If its in contact with ground you get the gharr noise. Also a green oxide formation too leads to this problem. You can fix it yourself.

Go directly to the nearest BSNL office, talk to some higher officials in person, give a written complaint if needed. That should solve it. Usually the higher officials in BSNL are very helpful. Also explain the problem in detail. Ask them to check the cable / line too.

If the call center assistants prove useless, you can directly contact the Nodal Officer in your city/place. But Customer Service sucks in BSNL.. I had to wait nearly a week to get my phone line cleared..!
