Hi,

I am in a dilema and thats why I put this up for your opinions.
I had posted something similar but i forgot to use the POLL feature so I repost here.Sorry for that.

I was nearly convinced untill I heard some conflicting views.

So please vote at you choice.

Also is a 64 kbps connection slow for surfing a downloads.

Thanks

I think u r asking 4 BB... so for ur information minimum of 256KBPS line is can b call BB....

now if u can use it even a 32KBPS would b good 4 u... more fast mean simply more speed.... but yes if u have a 512 KBPS connetion then u wont find any difference in normal surfing with a 256KBPS connetion.... but hay it all depends on u... that wht pages u want 2 visit... now there a webpages cramped with flash animation... & there r pages with simple text.... so it depends what u r surfing...

well its a very bad impression on ppl like a 256 kbps connection can only be called broadband. few months back BSNL defined it, very well on newspapers. its totally crap. when broadband started , it did by mere 30 kbps lines.

its simply an "alway on" connection which connects by cable. i never mean it should be running at 6 kbps. but i guess u all understood. 256 kbps barrier is just something hypothetical, unless we have infrastructure to give away that speed.

Hathway is really bad impressions on its customers. At least in mumbai and bangalore.

And for work like stuffs (dealing not much graphics), get going at 30 kbps.

hathway is pulling up their socks now. i just applkied for changing my cable net connection to a dedicated 64 kbps modem connection at the same cost i was paying for cable net ie rs 500 pm.. i didnt have to pay for the modem( not even rental) and no installation charges !

they said i can change it to any high speed connection any time i want and the best deal i got was that when i am abroad for six months in a year i just call them and my service is stopped and resumes when i m back so i dont have to pay for the time i m not in mumbai .

seems a good offer. dunno bout speed just waitng for installation.
