Recently I found that my computer is not at all booting. I checked the power chord etc. After playing with the hardware I started getting the RAM failure beeps. :?

Then I brought some RAM and tryed booting my comp with it.
Now my comp booted properly. It also showed the choose OS screen but when I chose the operating system It displayed the Windows Logo screen and hanged.

Whats wrong with my PC? GEEKS HELP!

If you have windows xp then try reinstalling it after replacing th ram because sometimes you have to do this after changing the hardware configuration. Harddisk may be the second issue of this problem.

Dont re-install just use the repair facility that is provided by WIN XP .

try repairing windows

put windows installation cd .. and boot to CDROM (you will have to change boot order to 1st.CDROM 2nd.HDD in BIOS)
when asked, press R for recovery console.
it'll ask for admin password
give the passw and now you will be in your C:\ drive
type "FIXBOOT"
and cross your fingers ;)
also try "CHKDSK C: /R"
