Simple indeed, put the Disk inti\o the tray and restart ur comp and go to the BIOS, in this go to bood configuration and make ur cd drive the 1st boot priority...
Now save and resart or continue...
U will boot...

Else, if not bios, then keep hittin f10 until u get (on sys start ) a menu for boot device..,choose Cdrom...Drive...

Shud be in Q&A

The only time a xp installation cd fails to boot is when it is not made into a bootable cd or the boot order is not appropriate.

What is your PC configuration? Some older BIOSes doesnt support booting from CD drives which are in Secondary IDE channel. If your CD Drive is in Secondary, change it to Primary and then check with the XP CD.
Also, check whether the 1st Boot Device is set to CD ROM in BIOS.
And, also check whether the CD is bootable or not.

yes check all those things first and also this very li'l thingy! it may seem unimportant but if u put win2k/xp cd then the boot loader asks you to "press any key to boot from cd"...you need to hit any key to boot from the CD!!!
