Bittorent Tortoise !!!

I changed My Comps location from one room to the other ...
Had phone line connection(same number) in both rooms ...
I have MTNL broadband 256 kBps(Unlimited) plan ...

Now the problem is THe download speeds have dropped from 200 kBps to not more than 30 kBps ...
Also I have upgraded my OS from XP to Windows & 64 bit ....

I tried all links that turn up on google when u search for "Optimimum Settings for Bittorent" ... But to no avail ...

Plz Help ....

You get a download speed of 200kBps from a line speed of 256 kbps!!!...HOW???

256kbps = 32kBps
so you are maxxing your connection
that said, i dont think MTNL have a 256kbps unlimited plan, the lowest they had (when i checked) was 320kbps

It was 200 KBPS (KILO BYTES PER SEC ) ...
Full movies used to get downloaded within 1/2 hr ...

My plan is for 256 kBps only ...
When I ping it shows TTL = 254 ...

MTNL is Pretty Good !!!

But Utorrent 2.2 is not letting me reach those speeds ....
Ne Suggestions ????

256kbps ? or 256 kBps
256kBps = 2mbps line and you should get download speeds of 256kBps with that
256kbps = 32kBps and that should be your download speeds

There can be some blips and temporary increase in speeds at times . How long were you downloading at 200kBps for ?
Maybe you were getting higher than the speeds you should and it has gone back to being what it should.. It does happen

I used to get 4mbps with airtel at times when I was on a 2mbps connection

@vizkid2005: wow..man MTNL has given u optical fibre or strong line cable.....

1kBps = 1 kilo bytes per sec
1kbps = 1 kilo bits per sec

1byte = 8bit

Ive been getting 200 kiloBYTES ps eversince I got my connection ...
The problem is arising right now ...

What to do ???
