Right off the assembly line
Hello,

I have a new assembled PC with the following configuration:

Processor:AMD Phenom II X2-550
RAM:Transcend 2 GB DDR3
Motherboard:GA-MA74GMT-S2
PSU: iBall-LPE/LPS 223-400(250W)
Monitor: LGW2043T LCD Monitor
UPS: APC 600VA
80 GB Seagate HDD, 500 GB Seagate SATA HDD, LG Combo DVD Writer

The video playback quality is some how not descent enough.
Do i need to configure the onboard graphic card?

If not then request you to please suggest me an optimal graphic card [Budget around INR 2500] for above config ( the

minimal PSU wattage in case 250 W is not enough)

The graphic card is just meant for watching DVD movies and very basic gaming.

Many Thanks....

Uninstall all Video Players , run some Registry Cleaning software like CCLeaner , then Install the latest K-Lite COdec Pack [ Additionally you can also Install KMPlayer latest version ]

For a Entry Level Graphics Card , ATI HD 4350 is your best bet , but see if you find any nVidia 9500 , it might be costing the same.

The mobo of yours has integrated radeon 2100 graphic which is more than enough to run DVD movies but it's not good for running HD movies though and it will give you jerky frame rates.

So most of the chances are it's just a driver or codec issue issue. unistall the gfx driver and download and install the latest driver from AMD's website and also try what ishu and mitraak has suggested.

Thanks all for the response.

I have narrowed down to the following ones:
1) ATI Radeon HD4550 512MB
2) nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512MB

Please let me know which one is better as per my requirements?

In case i need to upgrade the PSU then putting up
"Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500W" will be a good idea or not ?

Thanks in advance...!!

9500GT is 2.5k not 9800GT. go for HD4650 DDR3.
for PSU AVOID CM. get FSP saga II 500W or Corsair CX400W.

if 4650 is above your budget get 9500GT GDDR3
