Make sure they can upmix the stereo sound of normal television to 5.1 sound (stereox2 or prologicII).

LOL if you use foobar with ASIO, you can do it in software... no need for any speaker controls. For TV, its pointless cos the source signal itself is so noisy that upmixing in the speaker will mess it up even more.

Altec lansing's GT-5051R is awesome dude but u'll only be able to use front speakers in Tv in the 6 speakers mode and front and back in 2 speakers mode.

But, look for tech support while buying.


meanwhile, Creative is a good option too
