Benq DVD-Writer Problem. Not accepting any Media. Please Help

Hi Friends

I've a Benq DVD-Writer (BenQ DW1640). For the past few weeks the Benq DVD-Writer is not taking in any disc.

If I insert a Media the Benq DVD Drive it just simply ejects it. It doesn't take any media. CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW. I don't know why. I see the DVD-Writer in the Windows Explorer and in Device Manager.

My another Lite-On LH-20A1S (DVD Writer) (SATA) is working fine.

OS: Windows XP (SP2)

Please help me solve this issue. Thanks a lot

if the writer is in warranty then get it replaced.

else clean the lens 1st,if prob is stil there the update the firmware.

i think the drive is suffering from optical media form of anorexia..symptoms of imminent failure
