Bad News for Winamp lovers

Death Knell Sounds for Nullsoft, Winamp

The last members of the original Winamp team have said goodbye to AOL and the door has all but shut on the Nullsoft era, BetaNews has learned.

Only a few employees remain to prop up the once-ubiquitous digital audio player with minor updates, but no further improvements to Winamp are expected.

It's a really sad tale.....
I loved it so much...

But I think that Winamp has reached the saturation point of it's perfection...
So no more updates are required...
The v5 will rule for a long long time....

I nolonger use Winamp but i remember good old days of windows 95 and i couldnt live without Winamp.

Hmm, Winamp 5.05 is 99.98 % perfect, there is hardly any bug noticable , this version will be compatible & good, dam hard to beat for a long time

I already gave this news in the confrence last nite, neyway, good to see here

However, is there a true winamp alternative in terms of Skinning & memory usage

Nah winamp not everything for me too .... wmp's library is far more cooler for a huge song collection ! not that winamp is bad its good cos i use both

Winamp is the playa who revolutionized skinning... in fact the first thing get skinned was I think Winamp... the grand grand father of all GUI eye candy we see today.... lol

I think Winamp will live... forever

Have tried a lot of players, but nothing seemed close enough to stand up to good old Winamp! The news is a blow for music lovers!

hehe...i gave up amp ever since version 3....its a real resource hog...now, i just use QCD or foobar2000 special version or wxmusik
