Avast or AVG?

I am unable to come to a decision from our threads. Please users or Avast and AVG recommend me one.
Pentium Dual Core 2.6 GHz, 256 DDR, XP Pro.

I'll advise to go for avast!

I hv used AVG in past and was very mush satisfied with it but then I tried avast! and found it better than AVG, coz it also contains protection for Instant Messaging, Web shield, Mail protection, etc. And it can also check for updates at the specified intervals but in AVG, we can only schedule it at a specified time!

So go for avast!

pal, this has been dscsd so many times. both r almost equally good, though i'd prefer avast.

if u r stl unsure, honestly, throw a coin high up in the air and take a toss betwn the 2 ...

Avast! is better than AVG in all respects. Its VRDB function is awesome. avast! On-access guard offer better than AVG's. I was using AVG earlier. A try for avast! made me stick with avast!.

I prefer Avast over AVG. It's on access protection is really very good

Avast isnt resource hungry and has better interface than any other antivirus I have seen with great Anti Virus protection

Do u need more replies... There is no contest here. One contestant only. Avast... no doubt. Others r runners-down
I've been using it for...... @least 5 years... great record it maintained... the team just gets better and better...

I hate other antiviruses as they are resource-hungry. Avast takes really low memory resources... so ur computer starts faster and performs better when u have avast, unlike Norton... which is just a waste of space. Mcafee too sucks. BitDefender is a good one. Kapersky, AVG, QuickHeal, Pccillin are runners-up. Mind u, i tried all of them. So take my word and go the AVAST way!

But the best free antiviral solution is, without any doubt, AVAST. They update regularly too...
