avast! and Zone Alarm firewall Compatibility issue

Is there any compatibility issues with avast! and Zone Alarm firewall? I have avast! 4.7 Home edition installed. I installed Zone alarm firewall successfully. It needed a reboot. After reboot I see a warning from Zone alarm firewall that Zone alarm is not compatible with avast!.

Theres ben a compatibility issue between ZoneAlarm and avast! for quite a long time now. All we can do is wait and watch till the issue is sorted out by the avast! developers. However, I still use ZoneAlarm with avast!, its not given me any problems till date.

imo, there r no known compatibilty issues btwn za & avast. in fact the coexistence of those two is stunning ! on my desktop i have zass and avast running peacefully ! make sure u r using the latest versions of both.

nevertheless, in case of problems, don't install the network shield. select custom install (in avast) and un-click network shield. this network shield acts as a partial software firewall and could perhaps b causing conflicts with za.

Yeah! If u install network shield/web shield in avast!, then the problem occurs.
But avast! automatically detects the ZA firewall and asks u to disable its network/web shield.
So no problem!

avast and ZA are peacefully installed on my Pc for the last 1yr.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate your feedback. But i want to clear a doubt. Is Zone alarm firewall resource hungry like Norton antivirus? Or shall I stay with Sunbelt Kerio Firewall?

ZA is not at all resource hungry!
