Hey Guys...I use windows xp home edition...i had updated my computer fully with all the updates available in windows update. Then in DIGIT's May issue I found a software called Autopatcher which could speed up and update my computer fully as explained. I enabled all the updates and tweaks available in the software...i even enabled the updates which i had already installed before because i didn't want to miss anything...it installed a total of 136 updates+tweaks.....now after this installation instead of smoothing and speeding up my computer has slowed down very much. i am really [censored] up and there is no option to uninstall this software becuz it has installed lots of small softwares like powertoys, etc. Guys first tell me is there anyhting wrong in installing updates which are already installed...and then tell me what to do to speed up my pc.....Guys, I have told you everything in a very novice and layman's language so that everyone could participate in this forum...but if u want technical details please write...

P.S - I keep my system restore disabled

i have winxp. even i download and install xp upadates.

i first created a system restore point, to be safe.

then, i too ran autopatcher. i left the check marked settings at default, and installed. it did so successfully, no probs. :)

i guess autopatcher checks what you need to install, and what u dont have, and only checks and installs those. possibly your checking all created the problem !

suggest you keep you system restore enabled, in future.
