1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Gaming... for games like crysis [no one should ask me ll it run crysis], Battlefield3 mass effect, , NFS HP etc

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:
50k INR

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
no

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7, Ubuntu

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 2TB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: No. I have Samsung 18.5" LCD with 1366*768 resolution. [Will upgrade to Full HD monitor soon]

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I don't want to buy Monitor, UPS, Keyboard, Mouse, and PSU :-?

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
next month

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yup

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Chennai. I'm buying it locally. If any component is not available, i'll buy it online.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: No plan to buy a GPU as of now cause waiting for Nvidia's cards. When I go for the GPU I ll be buying a factory overclocked one.

Most important thing is my PSU :-?, I got Cooler Master Extreme power plus 500  someone asked me not to use it. So can I use this till I get a GPU.

I own this cabinet Elite 430 Black - Cooler Master - Leading Provider of Computer Case | Cooler | Power Supply [no transparent on side] so I need ventilation fans for that.

My plan:

Core i7 2600k [Or Go for IVY bridge] - 17550 [SB price may go down???]
MOBO - Asrock Extreme6 - 12600
RAM 16GB- G Skill DDR3-1600 [specify since there are many] - ???
Seagate 2TB - 7150
DVD Writer [Brand???] - [if ASUS] 1075
Fans - Side 2 [1 Led, 1 High Performance]
Top 2 [1 Led, 1 High Performance]
Back 1 [High Performance]
Bottom 1 [High performance]

Last but not the least, Thank You guys

I guess your config is more of a video editing/workstation

Its not a potential gaming rig

General Config (Med-High 1080p)
2500k
z68
7850
4GB Ram

If gaming is all your going to do (High to Ultra 1080p)
1090T (Seen Guys running 7870 CF on it(after OCing to 4ghz+ which is no task for it)) Source
990FX
7870
4/8GB Ram

Ivy Bridge is not so comfortable to overclock (Atleast for now)Source
the Intel hd4000 will mostly be wasted as you are going for discrete card
Not much improvement in FPS

Why go for such a powerful processor if you're not planning to OC buddy? Even if you're OC'ing, get a 2500k and with the extra bucks get a decent after market cooler.

I strongly suggest that you buy Seasonic S12 II 620, that CM one can damage you components anytime. The 50k includes GPU too?

Correct your Queries First...

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 7, Ubuntu

5. How much hard drive space is needed? Mention the Space required for the HDD, not the OS

Ans: Windows 7 x64

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.

Ans: No [If you don't want to buy a Monitor, then probably you can also mention, what monitor you have & at resolution it can run]

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: I don't want to buy Monitor, UPS, Keyboard, Mouse, and PSU :-?

11. Anything else which you would like to say? [Is your GPUS price included in this budget ??]

Ans: No plan to buy a GPU as of now cause waiting for Nvidia's cards. When I go for the GPU I ll be buying a factory overclocked one.

Your existing PSU can power a normal desktop without any GPU's & Overclocks. After all cooler master doesn't produce bombs. But when buying a GPU, then just sell it off or don't use it along with the new config.
Edit you first post.

omi im not gonna overclock may be future. Also I'm thinking the 2 or 3 sec or 2 or 3 frames faster on IVY bridge is not important for me. Also IVY bridge supports PCIe 3.0 which is not showing big difference over 2.0. So decided to go for Sandy Bridge i7 2600k since not gonna upgrade for another 4 years or so. I'm looking for z77 mobo cause it supports native USB 3.0 [I read it somewhere].

Please explain me if I'm wrong somewhere

Nope GPU is not included in the budget. Can I use CM until I get a GPU or buy a PSU right away. Since I dont wanna upgrade in 4 years or so, Im thinking of buying i7 SB dude.

Please suggest should I got for Ivy

@d3p: Done dude

@amjath: Wait for few more weeks[3-4weeks], IVY's price structure & motherboards will be available in full fledged.

Also if possible then sell off your monitor & PSU. Probably you can add a few more odd into your total budget.

Nvidia Kepler mid range also will be available in few more weeks.

So my suggestion will be wait for few more weeks & don't buy SB atm.

Close this thread & discussion for now. Ask mods to re-open this thread after most of the components are available.

^^OC'ing the IVB is a mixed bag buddy. Go for the i7 2600k with a good z77 board. BTW you can wait for the mid range Keplers.
