Asus launches the Fonepad 7 tablet for Rs. 17,499

Asus today announced the launch of the Fonepad 7. It is an updated version of the Fonepad, features a 7-inch IPS screen powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology.

Asus today launched the new 7-inch Android tablet called the Fonepad 7 in India.

The Fonepad 7 seems to be an updated version of its previous iteration - the Fonepad and sports a 7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. It is powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper Threading technology. It has a 1.2MP front facing camera along with a 5MP auto focus rear camera capable of 1080p Full HD recording. The Fonepad 7 runs on a 3950mAh battery which Asus claims can provide up to 28 hours of 3G talk time, 35 days of standby time and 10 hours of video playback.

On the connectivity front, the Fonepad 7 has built-in 3G with HSPA + mobile data. It has full 3G telephony support across GSM and WCDMA bands, which can also be used for voice calls using the built-in noise cancellation digital microphone or an operational Bluetooth headset. In terms of memory, it has 16GB of on-board storage with a microSDHC slot along with HDMI connectivity.

The Asus Fonepad 7 also comes with a customized user interface that integrates social media, which enables users to see their friends' updates on their contact list or incoming call notifications. It also offers 5GB of Asus Web storage to owners.

The Fonepad 7 will be available in India for Rs. 17,499 across select Asus authorized retail outlets starting November 2013. Check out full specs in the table below:
