hi guys ! there is a free way to check if your drivers versions are up-to-date:

    http://www.drivershq.com/ActiveX-Scan.asp?version=

u may have to install an activex component.
16 of my drivers were 'good' 2 were 'bad/outdated' :)
the checking is free; to update automatically/directly, u have to pay !

u can always update manually directly by visiting the mother sites.
i m therefore listing below the diriver update sites. PLEASE add/update/correct links if u know / of any other :)

    BACKUP UR DRIVERS ![IMG]
DriverMax is a new freeware program which allows you to easily reinstall all your Windows drivers. No more searching for your drivers on discs or on the web or inserting one installation CD after the other. Simply export all your current drivers (or just the ones that work ok) to a folder or a compressed file. After reinstalling Windows you will have everything in one place! http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/

Remove unused device drivers from WindowsXP [IMG]
"Did you know that unless you uninstall a device driver on a Windows
XP machine that it still may be sucking up valuable system resources?
in above mentioned link, are step-by-step instructions on how you can view and remove
    these unnecessary devices..."
use DH Driver Cleaner Professional Edition to achieve it.

    glad u feel so...thanx ! [IMG]

u know something, when ms first wrote to me asking if i'd like to be considered for the mvp award...i was, to say the least, ZAPPED ! [IMG]

    i wrote back, saying "r u sure u want to nominate me ? i am no techie...at best a tech-enthusiast..!"
i got a reply saying that "the mvp programme was not necessary for uber-geeks, but for tech-enhusiasts who were involved in offline/online communities".

    must update :

"The DriverPacks BASE is an easy to use tool to slipstream the DriverPacks (huge collections of drivers of a specific category of devices such as Graphics or Sound) into your Windows installation files. It can be used in more than 15 languages and allows you to easily choose the slipstream options, as well as the options for the DriverPacks Finisher.

The DriverPacks Finisher will also be slipstreamed into your Windows installation files and will handle all exceptions (such as control panels for drivers) nicely. You can also choose to extend the default Windows driver library, so that you will never have to go and find drivers again."
