Here's the another one. After rejecting what might have become the number one browser on iPhone, Opera, now Apple has rejected an app that would've been used to control Transmission on the desktop.. so technically it wasn't being used to download torrents on iPhone..

This kind of stuff will keep on happening if Apple continues to control all of the apps on its iPhone. We really need a IE vs Opera type lawsuit for Apple. Opera should have sued Apple for rejecting their app and for following monopolistic activities.

Sad, but it's their phone, their OS, their terms, and their users. So what the hell, if people are not happy let them not buy Apple.

Hahaha No problem brother Jailbreak hai na.But seriously opera should have been allowed by apple,i have no problem with safari, but opera has proved to be much more useful in other mobiles,so why not iphone.
The same goes for Flash too.

IM AS MAD AS HELL!!
remember earlier apple iphone doesnt had even apps . but what happned after the sdk was released ? it has got mannnnyy apps in short time ... so maybe apple could release opera as the next feature in iphone 2 or whatever it is called .

Android rules.
Android Market also rejects apps just like apple.
Only difference is that there is luckily an unofficial android app zone for all such developers and they can't be denied anything there.

As for other problems with android, instead of standard GCC, Android uses Bionic C Library. This creates problems when it comes to getting standard ARM architecture linux apps to run natively on android, but luckily you can dual boot android with Debian GNU/Linux which can run any app for you.

Thus, while android seems great on paper, only the enthusiastic linux community is ensuring that Android does not suck by going to any lentghs to get things working.

+1 :)

Google has not actually claimed it to be a 'Linux operating system'.

Thats exactly the reason they appear intent upon breaking compatibility with mainstream linux

But hey, so what ? By making devices compatible with Android, google ensures that they will also support "normal" old fashioned ARM Linux.

So I'm not complaining. Tis better than SE and Nokia phones which supported only WM or S60 and no other OS could be used like this.
