so why do people infringe laws and rip off ? Ever thought about it ?How many such cases do you think are there? There is a reason why when you buy a house there are legalities to it that essentially are proof that you own it. Off course there are people who can circumvent the procedure but does that mean that we should scrap the whole system?
Patents/Copyrights are meant to protect the one who "invented" it. It is under the presumption that the one who invented something will patent to make sure that no one copies what he made.
Why is plagiarism what it is? If your logic is to be followed we should do away with copyrights and everyone should be allowed to rip stuff from anywhere and "claim" it as his own, post it where he wants without giving any credit to anyone.
If people mis-use the system doesn't necessarily mean that the system is flawed. It basically means that the implementation needs to be improved.
I don't know about you but I certainly don't want stuff that I make/create/write to be copied and someone staking claim to it.
Human mind is a revolting mind, it has the tendency to break the rules. Just see that you are using TCP/IP/P2P for free just coz none patented (may be some parts are) it. Not to mention open web standards. Many other things for free just cuz they are free to share and all. If everything was to be patented I wonder you wouldn't even be allowed to make your own dustbin....lolz
Common search methods would have been patented...AI techniques to reach shortest path....proc system implementation. Then how could I ever thought of making a BE project without these basic things...lolz.
You think a lot from business POV. But try to think from average man's POV.
Copyrights and Patents are seemingly different !
Read more....Copyright law serves the constitutional purpose admirably. As you may be aware, copyright protects only the expression of an idea, not the idea itself. But patents are risky.
