AOE vs AOM

I got AOM day before, tried it. I didn't like the game very much. I think the AOE series is far better than the AOM ones..............what about u guys, which one did u like among them?

well, this is something different, a comparision of the two games, no strategy, hints etc has been intented to be discussed here. I already know about the thread u provided and am actively participating in that.

Comparision? Hmmm.. I don't even see a poll.
Both AOE and AOM are great games but AOM has some seriously cool units. Which other game boasts of such a variety of really unique units never seen in a strategy game. The god powers also add some depth to the game. AOM also has better graphics but I guess its because it was made much later.

Agreed with Doc Varun, AOM has got a lot of eye-candy stuffs as it was developed after a long period. But as far as gameplay is concerned, AOE is better because first-impression always rocks!! 8)

@ drvarunmehta : comparing dosen't mean having a poll.

The thing i liked in AOM was that while one process is going on a building, we can que up different tasks, AOM has more of an overhead view, AOE's view is somewhat balanced. AOM has also been beefed up with a lot of additional graphics, some which are not needed also, what do u guys feel about it?

Graphics and eyecandywise AOM is definately better, but when it comes to gameplay I feel AOE is much better.
Its the first Startegy game I played and it had me hooked. I am eagerly looking forward to AOE3.

Although AOM had only 3 sides, they were all completely different from each other. AOM had about 20 sides but most of the units and structures were basically the same but only looked different. AOM's single player campaign also had a much better storyline than AOE.

Aom Came in a continuse linking story line which got of immersed in to the game this was not so with aoe. I liked aom more.

I liked AoE when it came out ... i liked AoM when it was released .... for me i would go for AoM ... and will wait for AoE3 to come out ....!!!!!!

yeah, AOE3 will rock, they even have trains & rifles.


Game play in continuation(AoM), well i didn't like that. It becomes boring afterwards.

Yes, i agree to that. AoE requires more of strategy than Aom
