Android phone within 10 to 15K

Hi, one of my friend wants to buy an android phone on a budget of 10 k.Please suggest.

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Ans: HTC,LG,Sony,Motorola
5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).

6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.
Ans:Not much important
7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).

8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.

9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?

10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?

11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Ans:Sony Tipo looks promising except for the battery backup
12. Any other info that you want to share
Ans:Need good battery backup.Infact it is the most important factor and if required will increase the budget by 2 to 5K as this will be used for office purpose like mailing and long conference calls.

Huawei Ideos X5 Pro comes with gingerbread. I need a phone with either ICS or Jellybean or that can be upgraded to jellybean. How is the battery backup of tipo?.Somewhere i read a talktime of 5 hours. Basically, my friend is migrating from BB to android platform. So he needs the good of BB (email client), and advantages of android.Also, he needs wifi hotspot

X5 Pro already got ICS Upgrade and IMO no smartphone w/ 512 MB Ram will get official JB Upgrade

depends on the hardware actually. Xperia J with 512MB ram will get JB update mainly because the amount of ram dedicated to GPU is less. So more free memory for the system to use. Xperia Sola/U won't get JB update because 1/3 memory is dedicated to GPU and Android OS will use up the rest. No free ram left for user and so apps will lag and slow down.

What I actually meant was an Android phone with Ics or that can be upgraded from Ics to jb. Jb is not mandatory.

Xperia J and Sola are available at almost same price, considering that Xperia J is a very good option in budget of 15k, One can even have a look at Desire V
