Phenom II generation processors give AMD great possibilities on the experimentation with the cache volume in third level and the quantity of core. The same four core crystals can be used for the production of four core processors phenom II X4 9xx with 6 MB cache in the third level, four core processors phenom II X4 8xx with 4 MB cache in the third level, three core processors phenom II X3 7xx and dual core processors phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto) 6 mb cache in the third level.

During April AMD company will present the four core processors athlon X4 6xx (Propus) without cache in the third level. It is obvious that for their production AMD will use the four core crystals.

Well, it is more future proof, since it's 4 cores.

This basically is Phenom 9x50 series with these changes:-
1. 45nm in place of 65nm
2. Lower TDP(Some will have 45W TDP!!!!)
3. Lesser heat, so cheaper cooler, so overall cheaper price per unit
4. Cost will be lesser than any other quad-core
5. Overclocks well, especially with low TDP and heat
