AMD Phenom II x4 840 Processor

I am planning to upgrade my Athlon x2 250 proccy, have come across a deal of AMD Phenom II x4 840 Processor.

A member on other forum selling his 2 years old proccy at 2.9k..

Will it be a good upgrade?

Gigabyte GA 78 motherboard
Gigabyte 7770 HD
Seagate 1tb HDD

Phenom II 840 is basically a Athlon II processor, lacking the L3 cache but runs at higher speed. At 2.9K I think it is a pretty good deal as it still has 1 years of warranty left. But please do post the exact model number of the Motherboard 1st. If you're not sure, download CPU-Z, run it and post a screenshot of the Motherboard tab here.

Little bit. But the performance upgrade from an Athlon 2 xii will be quiet high.
