If I am not wrong, ppl have hit 4ghz on Biostar TA 790gx with 720, of course the board is pretty cheap build and wont last long.

My question: I will be using my X3 720 @3.2ghz, will the brd last say 2 yrs at least.

And I am thinking of buying Gtx 260 but I have to downgrade my processor to 7750 BE. Is this going to affect the perfomance?

hell ya, the 7750BE even at it max 3.3Ghz will be highly bottleneck for a GTX 260. get an HD 4770 with the P2 730. HD 4770 oced beats HD 4850/GTS 250/9800GTX+[all stock] easily.

and the main problem i heard with Biostar Ta 790GX is with the 4th core activation on P2 X3. U have only 50% chance of doin it. Other than that the board is gud if not better than other 790GX mobos.

And with 3 yr warranty, what are u worried about if u dun plan on 4Ghz? Its not gonna explode or nythin...maybe becomes somewhat unstable when u approaches 4Ghz.

Upto 3.6Ghz is an easy deal, even 780G mobos does that.

I did a 500MHz overclocking with my Gigabyte board and have been using it for 3yrs and still it is pretty stable but with that Biostar mobo, I don't think it will be that reliable. And yes, it's better to be safe than to think that 3yr warranty can save the day. They can sometimes take more than a month and you will be left without a PC all that time.

I think phenom 2 920 2.8 ghz @10200 with asus or gigabyte mobo with 790 gx chipset within 10k

And 4 gpu go 4 gtx 275 its better than gtx 260 and similar to gtx 285..'

I think GA-MA790GP-UD4H is the better one..
Anyways.. Does anybody have the solution for the BIOS issue?
Any idea how the MSIs fare in overclocking?
And I think Rohan is looking for DDR3 (M4A78T-E).

if u have budget of 15k~20k for motherboard+ processor, why not

E8400 8.8k+ Biostar I45 8k

it Will take E8400 beyond 4ghz and beats X3 720 hands down.

Only - is not tht much of future proof option.
