"Aspire 2920" is part of the Gemstone series, and sports a Ceramic-finish Pearl Grey interior along with a holographic Satin-finish cover. Importantly, it supports a dual independent display, giving users a choice to use both Linux and Vista Home Premium operating systems.

The notebook is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processor T9300, and supports mobile GM965 Express chipset and Wireless WiFi Link network solution.

It has a 12.1-inches WXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD display, 160GB HDD, and 2GB RAM system memory, and comes with a Web cam, DVD writer, and battery life of up to three-and-a-half hours. With Acer's ePowerManagement, users can choose optimum settings to extend battery time.

Meanwhile, Acer SignalUp and GridVista technologies make for dependable wireless connectivity, and optimized feature-driven display management. The "Aspire 2920" also features Acer CrystalBrite technology and Dolby Certified Sound System for 7.1-channel surround sound, with connectivity options including Gigabit LAN, WLAN, and Bluetooth.

The notebook is available in major cities across the country with the Linux model priced at Rs 37,115 and the Vista Home Premium model available for Rs 40,615.

All the sources report that the model will have the t9300 45nm 2.5ghz 6mb l2 cache proccy.
If this is true then it is a real steal at just 37k + taxes. :D

ultimate notebook mate ! This can beat the Compaq 6608(and its successor) to become the most VFM notebook, with insanely low cost per performance.

now its a WoW cant we have the same config with 15.4" at may be 42k
if this supports an external graphics card, or has atleast an 8600 M GT, nobody will ever look at MacBooks again. And at 12.5 inches and Gemstone Design, this will be a travellers' champion. I hope someone, or atleast digit, manages to get hold this book and review it.

thu mera posts pada kya ? Even I am talking in the same angle as you are. The processor, design, ram, hard disc, screen size, all of them make an excellent and powerful traveller on the go. Only the graphics is a big question mark. I am hoping for the Best, and if no good graphics is available, I hope there will atleast be an upgradable slot.

Wire muncher!
37k is a sweet spot! :) Acer laptops are the most value for money. Only concern is their build quality.

It is a very cute laptop. I had seen similar models but with T5450, but this is really a steal with Penryn...T9300 for 37k...with good looks...man Acer has a winner on its hands!

I found the graphics card of this one. As usual, acer cripples their laptop with GMA x3100. I wonder what sense they were using trying to combine x3100 with T9300. GM965 has only x3100 onboard, so we have to be contended with this. I was hoping for P35 based chipset or similar with GMA x3500. But I have still not found out if it has an option to upgrade graphics. Hoping for the best and ready for the worst.

T5450??? Thats bad... :(

But anyway, it still is a cool lappy for 37k. I think there is no other 12.1" laptop as good as this for 37k?
