Broken In
I have a pc running windows 98 SE with 128 MB ram and a 40 GB hard disk. I have 3 partitions of windows and one partition of Linux.
I run windows 98 SE and shrike 9.0, and the dual boot system worked fine. However the boot partition disappeared when I installed windows XP on the windows partition and the Linux partition is inaccessible

You will have to restore LILO/GRUB or whatever your distro used to be able to boot into linux.

The way you go about it really depends on your distro ... you could look through its help pages, or post the details here :)

One simple way would be (on distro's like Redhat) to go through the installation process, select "Upgrade", and then go through the boot loader installation process.

Or, (if you use LILO) ... boot into a rescue CD/floppy ... chroot to your main linux partition (chroot /dev/hda4 ... assuming hda4 is your lin partition), edit /etc/lilo.conf and run /sbin/lilo
