DONOT TOUCH THE HARD DRIVE.
DONOT BOOT TO THE HARD DRIVE.
DONOT USE IT AT ALL.

your data is (for the most part) safe right now.

tell us more about the hard disk.
what OS you were using. what was the original partition scheme you were using (eg, C: D: E: or C: D: G: H:, etc)

please dont use that disk for anything, as any sort of usage (including trying to install software/os) can result in destruction of data.

i'd advise you to get an external or 2nd hard disk, and arrange for a live CD of a linux distro (like ubuntu). this will ensure that the disk is not used till the data has been safely copied.

Buddy, I don't think your HDD is corrupted. As you have ejected the OS disk before the complete installation, the Bootloader is not able to find the required files required to boot into Windows and showing the error message. Better, re install the OS in your C drive. Make sure you format the Dir vie (mainly C) where you are going to install the OS. If going with Win 7, make sure you have at least 20GB on the disk.

ok, did you have important data on C: drive?
or did C: drive have just windows install data?

i hope your "important" data was in D,E and F drives.

which drive is ubuntu showing?
try this command :

sudo fdisk -l

^^ thats SMALL '-L' like '-l'

post the result here.

ok, i think linux can see all your partitions.

there was a method to restore a corrupted mbr from linux, i think you'll need to do that. google around and check.
