^^ ECS isn't good mobo & their after sales service sucks. products aren't very good. also get GTX460 1Gb. slower than HD5850 but also cheaper by lot. & runs cooler.

can i cut on the Corsair VX550W@ 4.7k and CM elite 430 @ 2.7k to buy a HD5850 or do i need them if i wanna OC ???

better don't. 550W from Corsair best bet. well you can cut down on the cabinet. but GTX460 1Gb as good as HD5850. go for HD5850 if found cheap.

yes, Gamma a good & better looking alternative if found for below 2.5k

GTX260? its an old card & consumes lot of power. avoid it.

I opted for it too !! My greatest mistake in life. In second month it went for replacement. It just sucks all your brain out !!

If you have such monstrous card like HD5850, you must have a good PSU. So Corsair VX550W @ 4.5k is your take.

i5 760 will be priced aound 10k.

Why don't you go for AMD Setup like Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 8k. This way you can get around 1.5k left.

Or else look for

X4 945 @ 6.9k

The AM3+ Mobo prices were also pretty decent.

man but isnt a superior processor and vid card more important than a awsom psu and mobo in a gaming PC?? if i invest more in the psu ill have 2 cut down on the processor and make it an amd or cut down on the vid card and make it gtx460...

mayb i can go for a vfm psu like

minimum PSU you require is Corsair VX450. its strict minimum that can support your setup without any problem. buy get the highest rated PSU as you can. get everything in balanced, you mayn't understand the benefits now but will understand over time as you'll have fewer hardware failures (or maybe no).

take roughly 500-800 bucks more than i5 750.

Zebronics PSU sucks. don't even think about it. also get the best one in your budget. i.e. Corsair VX450W or 550W.

also going for AMD won't have a hit at your performance. cause you won't pair your proccy with a Asus Ares or Asus Matrix. so performance will be ~2-3% less if going with AMD setup. so get i5 750/760 + GTX460 1Gb or X4 955 + HD5850 1Gb. will offer you same performance at same price. now its your call.

Get a X4 proccys(in my prev post) + 5850 combo. You can save upto 1.5k if you choose X4 955 BE.

So that you can invest that in PSU.

One more benefit of going with AMD setup is that AMD mobos have e-Sata and USB3 support which many intel mobos don't have.
