    hi
recently i observed my pc was slowing down.also my hdd makes noise.
i pressed cltrl+alt+del and went to processes there i saw 3dmax.exe was running and using a lot of ram.i was'nt running 3d at that time.i get that noise from my hdd all the time and the hdd busy indicator in front of my cabinet is always flashing continously as if it is doing some tedious task..and 3dmax.exe is always in the process list eating a lot of ram.
i have 3dmax 8 with the service pack 3.i have installed brasil, maxwell, vray renderers.
when i end process the 3d max.exe it comes up again.
pls tell me how to remove it.
here is a image of my process window

the following services are releated to 3ds max

    1) Uninstall Backburner from Add\Remove programs if u don't do network rendering

Stop these services & set them to manual in services.msc

    AdskScSrv.exe
    raysat_3dsmax8server.exe
    D:\3D MAX 8\brazil\sfmgr\sfmgr.exe
    D:\3D MAX 8\vrayspawner60.exe

or disable them from running on start up from msconfig
