3.93 gb usable in 64 bit os

Guys,
I am using win 7 64 bit os and 4x2gb ddr3 ram ... bt recently i noticed that it is only using 3.93 gb ram.why is that??

1)Update your bios to latest.


2)In bios -Make sure "Memory remapping" is enabled.


If above doesnot solve your problem then either DIMM'S not being seated properly - remove the ram and seat it properly

This is not software problem either bios or hardware

ok will try this . because this morning in bios msg it showed memory decreased to 4gb so i did the same as you told after that it did got back to 8 gb bt along with new msg in bracket (3.93... usable) in system properties

thnks i resinserted tram modules naw its working jst fine.
