Primary Work :
1. Typing of Writ Petitions on MS Word (At times on Page Maker)
2. Surfing Internet
3. Listening Music (not frequently)

Expected to use it for 2-3 years.

Budget : Under INR30,000 (the lesser the better)

What type to get? imo, it should be a Netbook. but will that last 2-3 years?

get a small ultrabook and a larger powerful laptop
netbooks often have bad build quality and the keyboard is terrible atleast for my hands

tyvm friend for the info but i have some bad experience of lenovo so won't be considering lenovo. i have seen very good ASS from dell and hp and most probably i will be buying the second one i.e. powerful laptop from dell only. thanks once again.
