1 tb hdd

Hello TDF
I am in the market for a new 1TB HDD.
I had initially shortlisted the WD Blue but there seem to be none in the market and using two 500gb hdd makes no sense to me
So i am pretty much down to two choices

1. WD 1TB BLACK ~6000
2. Seagate Barracuda 1TB ~ 4000 or 2TB ~ 6000

I know black has 5 yr warranty compared with the seagate 1yr (please correct me if i am wrong). I just have some doubts regarding the real world benefits (i.e. noticeable) of using the wd black vs the seagate
My usage is simple
1. Games (FPS)
2. Surfing

I expected the wd to win by a large margin.
Warranty wise, WD has 5 years, seagate 2 years.

The models are:
Seagate Barracuda 2 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (ST2000DM001)
WD 1 TB Black Desktop Internal Hard Drive (WD1002FAEX)

Personally i may be more inclined towards the seagate here despite the low warranty period.
Someone please convince me otherwise.

anyway since this is the first hard disk i have bought myself are there any tests i should run to see its performance to check whether its a dud or not??

Check HD Tune Pro.

HD Tune pro is paid so use crystaldisk info & crystaldisk mark which are free.
