If you have 6.5k, go for Western Digital Caviar Black 1Tb HDD. This one's superfast but only available at a high price

option 2: Go for WD caviar green or seagate 7200.12 1Tb HDD for 4.5k

option 3: Go for two 500Gb Seagate/WD HDDs, each one 2.7k. This one reduces the risk of data loss. After all 1Tb is lot of data.

Hi dessibond,
what do u mean my data loss,if u can explain in details it would be very helpfull.I am using 2X500GB, if i increase 1 TB more will it affect my pc's performance? or should i buy a 500GB Seagate external?

@fatalcore, these days, HDD failure rate has increase and that is why I thought it's better to have two 500Gb HDDs as losing 1Tb of data due to crash will be unimaginable.

Blue: The mainstream 7200rpm HDD
green: power saving features like stop HDD when not in use etc
black: extreme performance for desktops. this one starts at 1Tb and costs 6.5k but is twice as fast as regular HDDs.
