it is not an ordinary excel file.
it contains intractive contents.
Sending directly these types of file result in loss of some important information.

Hm........ i dont think he needs to send me that file in a zip folder because same file or mail can be opened and the game is playing fine in other systems
If its a game base don Macros then you need to change the macro Security to a lower level. but i see that was already suggested. You can check again by setting ti to low for this file and try again.
Also try installing a shockwave player. you might want to get the URL for the flash site he got the Flash game from just in case so you can access it.
it shud run in office2003 may be your app (excel 2003) has some problem...
the file which u have may contain macros,activeX Controls,xml expansion pack,or web
components
