and regarding games , i have a collection of JAVA games over 1 GB

Abt the apps, Gx, i want Opera, Implus, Smartmovie etc. The symbian ones. Not the java crap.

Opera mini is there, but yeah native opera must be faster, but I don't see much difference in both.

IMPlus alternate is Morange, IMplus is also for java.

Smartmovie sux big time, I would rather prefer encoding a video to h.263 mp4 using riverpast then smart movie

Smartmovie/divx are amongst the best players on mobile.
No Java app can match Slick/Implus

Hmm, then it's better to buy the Sony Ericsoon G900 or Nokia N78. Atleast they look better then N82 in physical looks to me. N82 seriously looks like a brick to me

1. Looks - N82 has definitely improved with the black version..It does look equivalent to the K850i in this department if not beats it....
2. Cam results - better than the K850i....U can check some of the reviews on the net for confirmation if u don't trust me...
3. Price - www.univercell.in - N82-19615/-, K850i - 19135/- So a price difference of Rs. 480 only...

Now the extras that u will get by spending these Rs. 480/-
1. Wifi - K850i does not have wifi...
2. N82 - 16 M colors, K850i - 256k ... So clarity of N82 is better.
3. Display size - N 82 - 2.4'', K850i - 2.2'' - Higher screen is better for internet surfing.
4. Phonebook - N82 - u can store unlimited entries...K850i - 1000 x20 fields
5.Call records - N82 - 30 days..K850i - 30 entries... So N82 is better as u have call records of 1 month...
6. OS - N82 is symbian so more applications are available...
7. GPS Navigation - N82 has it..K850i doesn't. Now don't tell me that whenever GPS is launched in ur city u will not use it...
8. Weight - N82 - 114g, K850i - 118 g (This is minor issue and can be negated)
9. 3.5 mm audio jack - N82 has - so you can plugin any headphones...
10. TV Output - N82 can be connected 2 ur TV 2 view ur photos and videos or 4 that matter whatever comes on ur N82 screen... K850i lacks this feature...
11. Office document Viewer - N82 has it...U can read ur excel, word, pdf docs in N82 after loading it...K850i - This feature is missing....
13. N82 cam has carl Zeiss optics with a xenon flash and autofocus....K850i does not have Carl Zeiss optics in its cam...
14. N82 - equipped with ARM 11 332 MHz processor...Although symbian the N82 is really really fast...
15. Internal memory - N82 - 100 MB..K850i - 40 MB ( So N82 is better)

So, dear what else do u want by spending just Rs. 418/- extra....According 2 me N82 is a better choice in this segment.....

Note:- I am not a fanboy of any brand...Whatever is better, I just acknowledge it...I own a K750i and I know its cam is best in 2 MP category...I love my K750i and will never sell it...

and gourav if u wud have asked me 2 choose between N73 and K810i, I wud have chosen K810i coz its cam is better....

BUT in the 20k segment, It is N82 only.. It is definitely a better deal....

Rest depends on u dear...Go 4 whatever ur heart says...coz u have 2 use whatever u buy and in the end it is ur satisfaction that matters the most....

So have you completed your BE or which year you are in . I am third year engineering student and my exams are on from last 17 days and will continue up till june 15 !!! this is really pis**ng me of . OH and for the phone , choose n82 .

So that means you want to go with K850i.. Go ahead go for it! But looking at your post above, you are only going for it cause of the looks (which is ok if you want looks). Other than looks (which are subjective), there is no way you can compare N82 with K850i.

well just go to a mobile shop and ask the bestseller for that budget you will be surprised that it is not sony but nokia n82

On paper N82 does looks good & more powerful then K850i but with all those features one questions comes in mind, will anyone use all those features?

Why not..People will use these features with time...

It is a mobile phone, how many places are there where you will get free WiFi or something??? Maybe Barista or CCD, but it's not like u stay there for ever. Having WiFi over GPRS/EDGE for internet won't make a difference in a phone anyway.

Wifi is a great feature of N82...U can have a BB connection with wifi modem and can use it for surfing on ur mobile...N82 can connect 2 wifi devices such as ur laptop for data transfer etc...The 3G is being launched in India by the end of this yr and wifi pts. r gonna increase with time...

A difference of .2 inches is hardly noticable.

A greater screen gives a better surfing experience and bigger screen is better...

In real world scenario, this is irrelevent.

Call records - 30 days for N82..Can u retrieve the person's cell no. who called u 30 days back with K850i...I don't think that u will make only one call per day with the K850i.....

GPS is available in India in some cities dear...i thought that u know this....Its free..U don't have 2 pay 4 it..

Many people use the TV output feature...One always like 2 view the photos & videos taken ob big screen. So this is quite a handy feature..

Won't make much difference, picture quality depends on light.

The cam results r better due to Carl Zeiss optics...Just check the review sites 4 this...

Overall N82 is for those who want a brick & a small computer while K850i is for those who want a multimedia device & phone.

And Dear N82 is not a brick phone..K850i is heavier by 4 gms than N82...
N82 - 114 g, K850i - 118 gms.

Guys, I accept that I am a little inclined towards K850i.

Honestly speaking, it because of its stylish design.

And secondly, the I'll be using features like wifi, internet surfing, or viewing office documents on my laptop.

That's why I thought that K850i would be a better choice for me. (I've always liked stylish phones ... My last few phones were Moto Rizr V3i & Moto Razr Z3)

But, looking after such unanimous inclination towards N82, I feel that I am making a mistake.
Still I am not 100% convinced.

Keypad Wise K850i is much better then N82
K850i looks like a gadget, N82 looks like a brick to me. Even N78 looks better
Camera is subjective, I find Sony Good, U find Nokia good.
Design wise K850i is easier to use then N82
Softkeys of N82 sux
Accelerometer is hardly usefull in real world
