Hi guys,

i am having strange issue

when Main electricity goes off inverter get turn on and being on UPS mode my pc doesn't restart and when main electricity comes back everything goes smoothly and my pc running perfectly fine .

If electricity doesn't come back within 20min then our sector generator start running as soon as generator power comes and inverter switch to main supply that movement 50% time only my pc get restart rest device don't get any effect

this happen only with generator supply not main grid electricity supply

what can i do stop it
please help

Which Power supply do you use?
Does your inverter have a UPS Mode? I believe you have a Home Inverter.
I used to have issue with my PC restarting during power failure, but after I changed my Power Supply, it stopped.

If you read my post again I said I have no issue with inverter it's supply from generator as soon as inverter switch from battery to generator supply it restart my desktop 50% time not every time
Sorry about that, Feeling a bit sick and might have skipped a few words :p
My PSU is cooler master silent pro 550w

Can you swap out the PSU with some other supply from your friend and test? I Think the PSU is the reason for this.

Actually inverter is not issue it's generator . as soon as my inverter switch from battery to generator supply it restart 50% time but when inverter switch from battery to main grid line no such issues

My PSU is cooler master silent pro 500w

No issue :)
No no friends has PSU which can support my hardware hmm even if I swap which would best replacement

Could this be a reason that generator take little more time to generate ~230V?
If your inverter has an option to run even in low voltage like 110V, switch on that option when you're running desktop or keep it ON all the time. It should switch to main line (or generator line) only when its is above ~ 180V.

May be the issue is with switching from inverter to generator power, even a sec of delay will cause such power failure. I would suggest you to use an UPS to be on the safer side.

Well company website say it run 100V~300V in UPS mode :/

Problem is that generator start after 2hrs and when you are middle of online game like Dota which punish if you leave middle of match and UPS usually gives max 10-20min and not only that I have two more desktop joining next month and those two desktop will run valuable data which I don't wanna risk of losing them .

Which is scaring hell out of me

what inverter are you using? i too use inverter with 2 PC's and never faced a reboot, even on harsh power from 2 different generators & grid line, it will go to battery mode and will never reboot
if it is UPS mode

a good inverter will have a delay before switching to any input power, and checks if frequency and voltage are within range and then shifts to it.
my generator used to output some bad frequency,
when it senses the frequency as ok, it switches, and then it sees that it is bad again, changes to battery , and happened every 0.5 sec until I fixed the generator

I am using microtek hybrid inverter
Please tell me which company inverter you have if required I will get separate inverter for PC only
But still it's rebooting in UPS mode for you? :(
As Kart says is it the generator then?

What's the fix if it's the generator? I guess generator is for everyone in the apartment not just for his house. How he can fix it?

Yes that's what I found out because if I am on inverter and normal electricity comes back my PC don't restart but happens with generator supply but not every time it's 50-50%

kart is right my inverter should have done its job adjustment of voltage but not doing my guess

big generators have a digital display of voltage ,frequency, load(amps, kva etc).
when u look and the generator window (where the start / stop panel, depends) or on the big distribution board which most apartments have
you can see if frequency is 50Hz +/- 0.5Hz
and voltage is 180 - 265v

our generator was an old one and has a mechanical governor to control the speed of the generator depending on the load, electrician fixed it for me during a crysis, looking at the meter itself (meter and generator are very far away).

this solved the continuous changing from generator to battery every 0.5 seconds for me

I suggest you to try to exchange the inverter(a sinewave inverter) with your friend's and try.
microtek is indian-made and lacks quality and reliability

how do you change the power from mains & inverter? do you have a changeover switch? manual or automatic?
neutral cut during changeover will sometimes reboot the pc. this is somewhat complicated related to the wiring.

try to plug the PC directly from the back of the inverter, then the PC will get neutral directly from it.
(though it will be floating(means live/hot , it is actually supposed to be neutral/safe to touch) at the point of time when the changeover happens)

Won't be possible as everyone near us has microtek inverter only only I have latest one :/
Another issue inverter is in different floor then my PC it's next impossible as don't wanna sit in open

It's Automatic changeover to lazy to go and change it myself so got automatic .

Tell me inverter brand which you think can work in this situation I will connect all three (two more PC next month) directly with inverter

where is the automatic changeover switch, where is the main board and where is the inverter?
I think the neutral getting cut is the problem as you are getting reboots on generator only.

changing inverter will not be a solution if the wiring is at fault.
do all appliances work in generator or only specified light / fans/ plug points?

automatic changeover is near invertor . All electricity in house runs on generator

I'd say to get an electrician to simulate a power cut (remove the gen wires at the changeover and loop the grid wires.
remove the original grid wires, this will make the changeover to switch to the generator side terminals)

I'd suggest amaron iACE inverter if you insist to change it
