AC for an small room[110 Sq feet]

Since last 2-3 yrs till last week we were postponing installation of AC in my parents house as the building was going under re-development (which is delayed now) & there was hardly a space for installing an AC.

The entire locality is going through re-development phase & there is lots of air & noise pollution all over. Many people in our society have fallen ill including my parents. My 4 yrs old nephew have fallen ill & is hospitalized.

Reliance Energy provides electricity in our locality & our electricity bills are huge [Rs.2200-2500 per month without AC for an small 1BHK Flat] so I'm mostly planning for an Inverter AC which could be used later on in our new flat.

The current Bed room size is 12 feet x 9 feet & the height of the ceiling is 9 feet. There are two windows[approx. 4 x 3 feet in north & south direction] almost opposite at the distance of 12 feet. There is hardly a space of 84 cms wide & 35 cms height over the north side window for indoor unit.

I've shortlisted 2 Inverter Ac's & need your advice

1. Hitachi RAU012KVEA 1 Tons Inverter Split AC
Hitachi RAU012KVEA 1 Tons Inverter Split AC Price in India - Buy Hitachi RAU012KVEA 1 Tons Inverter Split AC online at Flipkart.com

&

2.Daikin FTKP25QRV16 0.75 Ton Inverter Split AC [inclined to this as it has compact indoor unit]
Daikin FTKP25QRV16 0.75 Ton Inverter Split AC Price in India - Buy Daikin FTKP25QRV16 0.75 Ton Inverter Split AC online at Flipkart.com

My doubt is will 0.75 ton daikin inverter ac cool the current 110 Sq feet room & later on it will be shifted to approx 120-130 Sq Feet bedroom. please advice

If there is any other inverter AC which has compact Indoor unit [80 cms Wide & 30 cms Height] then please do suggest that also.

I'm open to Energy efficient Windows Ac too.

Thanks in Advance.

Right off the assembly line
Inverter Split AC.

Hitachi Kashikoi 200i 1.2 TR - RAU014AVEA
Sharp AH-X15RET 1.25 Ton
Sharp AH-XP13PHT 1.1 Ton
Daikin FTKP35QRV16 1 Ton

All 4of them should be decent. Check the best available price.
First 2 could be your choice considering your future upgrade (120-130 Sq Feet bedroom).

Can anybody let me know how are carrier midea acs?

Getting their Electra plus 1 tonne model @37000 including complete installation. I feel there is a chance to bargain a bit more.

You were saviour as almost would have got it. Just before booking saw your comment on one thread.

Problem is limited space for inverter split ac (just 83 cms wide for indoor unit)

Do you know any inverter ac having compact indoor unit?
Else suggest some energy efficient window ac.

The only energy efficient window ac is the Hitachi RAV513HUD 5 star ones. None can save power and cool like it does. At the moment the smallest inverter indoor unit is the Hitachi Kaze.

Had good experience with hitachi quadricool window ac long back but they were not energy-efficient.
Will check hitachi kampa ones tomorrow

Midea is a cheap Chinese company which makes cheap unreliable stuff and sells them cheap around the world. But here they have have priced it at premium almost like the in the price range of a Daikin or Hitachi. Died laughing.

Bro is it advisable to to use larger capacity Window Ac for a small room?
I'm looking for future proofing too as 1 ton may not cover 130-140 Sq feet of area later on so planning for 1.5 ton Hitachi Kaze Plus 5 Star AC.

Also planning for an workaround......

Where do I find energy consumption calculations for 3 star 1.5 ton Split Acs?
There is a Samsung Split AC 3 star rated in one of our rented property. Its purchased in June -July 2010 & I guess it can be stretched to be used for 2 years more after thorough servicing. If that's really in working condition then can compromise a bit & install it in living room.

large capacity AC might be a overkill. Unless you are planning to use blankets throughout the year.

even mistubishi 0.5 ton is good,we have 2 in our office
only concern is when you shift to a bigger place,it might not cool that well then

1.5 ton will work better in your specified room since it will reach the set temperature sooner and the thermostat will cut off the compressor sooner than a 1 ton and thus save power.

Being on set of rains we have decided to use the existing samsung 1.5 tonne ac for time being which will be installed in living room. In October we can decide on futureproof ac which will be suitable for large room.

I need some help with installation & maintainence. What all things should I take care off with respect to installation& service?
I have approached an local ac service centre & following are his quotes
Dismantling 750/-
Installation 1000/- plus extra for materials if required.
One time service 400 &
amc 1400 includes 4 times services
Extra refrigerant filling 2000 if necessary
Transportation cost 100-200

Are these charges ok?
Please let me know what all precautions to be taken.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

I gave him two more jobs of our new tenant.
1. Sourcing second hand window ac
&
2. Similar job to shift his old lg split ac to our apartment.

Infact I was bargaining more but he insisted me to pay installation charges only if I'm satisfied with his work. Did very good job so my parents paid him full amount which was decided.
