Are you typing from a bus?

Anyway, 55 kms is 1-2hrs, many people make that trip to office, its hard but doable, or try to find a PG near office and work out which option is cheaper.

Not a very big deal, it's doable. My office is 45km from my house and I use public transit. Takes me 2 hours to reach office. In time for me is 9.30 AM. Right now I'm traveling back home from office. :p

Before this I was working from a location that was a further 10 km away. But I had company transport service for that office.

Almost all my friends working in IT in metro cities travel atleast 30 mins - 2 hours via bus. They get up at 6-6:30 to perform morning ablutions and get ready for the job. They have gotten used to it. The irony is many of them stay at home ,but have to commute due to location of Office thus negating the convenience of staying at home :p .

This is nothing. One of my friend who works in sales in a manufacturing company has to travel to various locations on a daily basis in company car to sell his products to Marwaris :p . He is utterly frustrated with the constant to and fro.

OP I suggest you type once your are outside some vehicle and not while traveling in one because in office communications this way of writing will be frowned upon.
I stay 15 kms from my office and in morning due to no traffic it takes me less than 30 minutes while in evening it takes me 1 hour to reach home due to traffic.
If you have problem with traveling you can rent a flat near office and on weekends come to your main home.

i travelled [not daily[coz i was a hostel-ite]] to college ~60kms away for 4 years.

it was such a pleasant journey by train. at the end, i had gotten to know most of the copassengers, even if i didnt know their names... actually, surnames of some of them. :)

If you want to join that job then join the job.
If you don't want to travel that far then don't join the job.

nothing comes easy. I have been traveling 45Km (min) for last 16 years.

If you plan properly you can easily manage both job and travel. even i also use to travel too long but till now i am not able to feel difficulty.
