My younger brother will pass out his 12th this year. And will take admission for engineering. Branch not specified. Actually he is looking for IIT or NIT or any big name. And now he will be free for almost 2 months
So can anybody suggest me what will be better for him?
I am asking him to go for programming. he knows C, C++, wil it be good to go for more advance like PHP, Java etc?

please suggest
1. C, C++ or programing
2. Higher Maths, physics
3. anything else??

Well, first of all he'd have to crack JEE, provided he does that and get entrance into one then I'd say tell him to take the time off and enjoy the few months he has left till he returns to hell :p

It absolutely will not help him anyway to learn anything you mentioned above, because:
1. He'll have ample time to learn them in college.
2. Two months is not enough to give him any edge, the first year syllabus is usually the same as +2, as far as Physics, Chem, Maths, Mechanics etc goes.
3. C, programming etc is very easy to learn and he won't need it till 2nd/3rd year, basically the 4yrs of engineering will be more about non course related stuff than course related(like C for CS students, I had to study electrical for 3 sem,s damn wbut).

So tell him to relax and enjoy his life as much as he can, go for trips, cause the next 4 yrs will strip him of his freedom entirely.

I would suggest him to start learning how to ride a motorbike, This is important as many girls prefer guys who own a BIKE. It will be easier for him to join a bike gang later on.

Secondly, he should learn to play basketball and start going to the Gym. Chicks dig athletic, muscular guys with bikes.

Thirdly, he should learn to play a Guitar. I mean c'mon, Handsome, athletic guy who plays the guitar and has a Bike. Girls will fight for him.

Fourth, be good in class and become the teacher's pet. An intelligent guy with good looks and physique, plays the guitar and has a bike. OMG that's marriage material.

Trust me, your brother will have marriage proposals before he gets campus placements!

The above post is a joke, although some points may be ridiculous but they do come handy in college.

lol, yeah pickup or seduction, search online, good skills.. social skills, better learn them..
apart from that, learning and writing useful apps is the way to learn.. not learning some language c or c++.. its useless.
