Hello Geeks,
I have been buying lenovo Z/G series in past. But Lenovo have withdrawn Z series in 30-40K range and G series build have let me down. In 30-40K only G series is available which are very flimsy and I have experienced hinges coming out on 2-3 G series laptop.

Dell and HP out of equation owing to heating issues.

After rigorous search I narrowed down on two models(Sony Vaio Fit and Acer Aspire V5):
Sony VAIO Fit 15E F15212SN/B Laptop (3rd Gen Ci3/ 2GB/ 500GB/ Win8) vs Sony VAIO Fit 15E F15212SN/W Laptop (3rd Gen Ci3/ 2GB/ 500GB/ Win8) vs Acer Aspire V5-572 Notebook (3rd Gen Ci3/ 4GB/ 500GB/ Win8) (NX.MA4SI.004) vs Acer Aspire V5-572 Laptop (3rd

My only question is durability of Acer Aspire V5(I am impressed with build but need a second opinion)
With Sony only drawback is 2GB RAM, will definitely need to upgrade. Also, it has cool gesture support which isn't a big deal for me but certainly for my brother who isn't a techie like us and is awed by the marketing gimmick.

Please suggest: Shall I back my instinct about Acer Build or stick with sony.

Thanks and Regards,
Rohit Murarka

I still think it's a good idea for OP to fill the Questionnaire before we give any advice.

It's still in process. And anyway "Vaio" is just getting sold to some xyz company, not closed.

If only this logic worked, moto G would not have been a star.

that xyz company is not Lenovo. Lenovo has a worldwide reputation whereas the new vaio company is like a new kid in the block.

Hi Sujay,
Thanx for responding.
I picked acer aspire V5 in Store and it felt good. Its build felt on Par with HP but not Sony. HP have traditionally been notorious for Heat issues, so not looking that.

Even I researched about Sony. They are Sellin Vaio Business but will keep the support unit with them for atleast 3-5 yrs. So after sales is not an issue. Vaio have 2Gb of RAM so need to upgrade with another 2 atleast for smooth operation.
