One fact here, The rate of failures of GPU's are more than CPU's. Which means you will require more GPU warranty than CPU's

Get only the CPU. Get a Intel Core i7-3930K priced at 419$.

If you're not convinced then get a i5 2500k with MSI HD7870 TF IV priced at 269$

you will get warranty but you have to ship the package to US all by yourself & collect it back.

Two way cost for the package(do not forget about the time & hassle involved) is more than you have paid for the card itself so think about that.

I will suggest get only CPU. Buy the gfx card from here.

shall i check the card there at my cousin's friend's place before bringing it here?

for $250 in india i can get only a 6870. guess i have to take a risk like ppl void their warranty by removing heatsink for water cooling

Do yourself a favour by not opting for cards without warranty.

Get Some memory sticks or SSD's instead.

Get these VFM stuffs from US.

OCZ vertex 3 240GB - 199$

Corsair Dominator GT 8GB (4GB x 2) 2133 CL9 Kit with Airflow Fan - 119$

Also a CPU Cooler : ZALMAN CNPS9900MAX-B 135mm - 65$

Add a Fan Controller : NZXT sentry II Touch - 24$

Nope, but the Price which you are playing for the same SSD here in india is close to 20k whereas its available for 10k in US. Regarding getting warranty, SSD are small enough to carry or send to US for claims.

Whereas GPU's huge & weight is also high.

don't go buy US rate, here shopkeepers sell every thing by atleast 15% higher price. And sometimes they keep the bundled goods with themselves & sell those separately.

Actually most of the components purchased in US has limited international warranty, which is valid over US, Canada, Mexico & complete South America Continent.

Same goes with Europe. The international warranty is valid across European nations.

But the service offered by Dell, HP & few other laptop manufacturers are worldwide.
These type of service is not offered in this case.

@OP: Its always a risk to buy GPU's from US & use them here in india. IN case if its not working then, all the money goes for vain. Same goes with PSU & Motherboards. That's why IMO better to stay away from such purchases.

On top the Customs, if you are caught then pay the fine along with the custom charges. All these for components of no warranty. Think once more.

Buy stuffs like cabinet [if possible to carry], Water cooler components, Heat sinks or components with less failure rate.

I have read somewhere that EVGA Graphics cards do have international warranty. You can check and confirm if the case is true before making up the mind fully.

Edit : It's confirmed here! You can buy EVGA card if possible.

Yes this is true. But it depends on who is the service provider or Dealer in india, deals with EVGA.

Even same goes with XFX Cards, but locally[inside india] its not valid.
