I am a Mechanical Engineer and my wife is an Architect.
We have two low end systems purchased 5 yrs back and one laptop purchased two years back. Now we are going to buy one high end pc for both. I am a resident of Kolkata, India.

As my budget for following items (CPU+MOBO+RAM+DISPLAY CARD+PSU+CASE) is 35K-38K (MAX). I may go for AMD or Intel (AMD Phenom II X6 or Intel Core I or Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron). I may also wait a little while that is 2-3 months.

Our prime requirements are as follows (priority wise)

1) Architectural Content Creation in 3D Studio MAX
Texture Creation in Photoshop
Still Image Rendering 4800px X 3000px (Vray)(Ray Tracing)
Exterior & Interior Walkthrough (Vray) (DVD or HD Quality) (Ray Tracing)
Using Premiere to finishing Walkthrough
Type : Professional / Expert

2) Mechanical Modelling in MCAD Software like Solid Works / Inventor / Solid Edge / Pro - Engineer
Type : Professional / Expert

3) Structural Modelling Revit Structure
Type : Professional / Expert

4) Architectural Detail in Revit Architecture
Type : Professional / Expert

5) Finite Element Analysis in Ansys / Nastran / Algor
Type : Beginner/ Learner

6) Gamer
Type : Occasional (Intermediate Level)

Our primary concern to invest on such a pc is for our Architectural Content Creation. We want to use latest technology for better output.

Please suggest me from the following, but if you want to refer something which is not there in my list please feel free to recommend. I have mentioned the pricing of Kolkata reseller.

1) Processor + Motherboard (Budget Rs. 12,000/- to 20,000)

Please recommend three different combos
i) between 12K to 14K ii) between 15K to 17K & iii) between 17K to 20K

a) AMD Phenom II 1100T BE + Asus M4A88TD M EVO (17K)
or
b) Intel Core i7 960 + Asus P7H55 M (18k)
or
c) Intel Core i5 2500K + Asus P867 (18K)

2. Memory (Budget 8K to 12K)
a) Kingston 1333 FSB - 4 X 4 GB (Rs 8K)
or
b) Kingston Hyper 4 X 4GB = 16 GB 1600 FSB (Rs. 12K)
or
c) Corsair XMS 4 X 4GB = 16 GB 1600 FSB (Rs 10K)

I am also checking for availability of Corsair Hi FSB (dual channel / tripple channel) DDR3 RAM (XMS, Dominator, Vengeance) in our locality.

3. Display Card (Saphire / Asus / MSI / Gigabyte / Zotac / Palit / XFX) (Budget 4K to 7K)
(May be purchased later)
a) ATI Raedon 5670 - 1 GB (Rs. 6K)
or
b) ATI Raedon 5770 - 1 GB (Rs. 7K)
or
c) Nvidia GTS 450 1 GB DDR5 (CUDA based) : (Rs. 7K)
or
d) Nvidia Quadro 380 512 MB DDR3 (CUDA based) : (Rs. 8K) (Note : I found quadro is a card for engineers and used in engineering workstations by HP)
or
e) Any Other Geforce / Raedon Card

4) PSU (Cooler master / Zebronics / iball / Corsair) (Budget Rs. 3,500)
a) 500 W
or
b) 600 W
What are the purposes of multiple graphics card in single system?

Do you think a low end Xeon / Opteron will come in same budget and is better than configuration mentioned?

I also wanted to install a Wifi Lan Card in my desktop, I do not require a regular lan which is coming with Mobo.
(want to transfer data between laptop & desktop and want to surf my 8 MBPS BroadBand)

1) Wifi LAN Card from Dlink (Rs. 750)
2) Wifi Router Linksys or Dlink or Netgear (Rs. 1500-2000)

Please mention your preferences & also mention the brands you recommend.................

Do you have any idea about AMD Bulldozer?

Bond, Desi Bond!
among the CPU+mobo combis, this one's better: Intel Core i5 2500K + Asus P867 (18K)

unless you want to do gaming, there is no point in getting gaming GPUs for rendering work. Look for nvidia Quardro and AMD FirePro. what's your budget for GPU btw?

I have misspelled, it should be Intel Core i5 2500K + Asus P8H67 (18K)

not Intel Core i5 2500K + Asus P867 (18K)

I know P8P67 is better than P8H67 but price will be 6K more. that I can't afford.

Budget of Every product I have mentioned already. But for Display card 7K will be good.
