I have the foll. specs:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
MSI 880GMA-E45
Kingston 2x2 1333 DDR3

I'd like to know which is better (Corsair VX400?) if I take the foll. GPU:
a) 9600GT 512 DDR3
b) 4850 512 DDR3

My monitor resolution is Max 1280x1024. So i'd need something which is not more of an "overkill"

Thanks.

at least VX 450

and if u wanna go for CX 400W then u should go for HD 5750/5770 instead of 4850/9600

if u can extend ur budget upto 5k then u can go for HD5670 512mb which is comparable to 9800gt and draws very less power
that way u can go for CX 400W

So basically I need VX450, to be on a safer side for future?

EDIT: My monitor Reso is Max 1280x1024. So i'd need something which is not more of an "overkill"

if u r gonna game at this resolution then 5670/9800gt will be more than enough
the problem with the older series is that they consume more power
if u r getting 4850 at 4k then its even good
but make sure to get VX 450W for this card

9800gt will be requiring more than 450W so ignore this one

so i'll make it simple for u
CX 400W--->HD 5670 512mb /HD 5750
VX 450W--->HD4850/gts 250

don't waste too much money. get GTS450 + FSP Saga II 500W or Corsair CX400W. the Corsair 400W unit will support all the above mentioned cards. but try get the FSP. read VFM.

So 400W Corsair is suffice for both 4850 & 5000 series? I sure don't want to wake up one day only to see my mobo turning into a toaster. :)

yup. for HD4850 is somehow enough. but if you talk 5000 series you need specify a definite name, rather than 5000 series. 5000 series = HD5430 as well as HD5970.

X6 + 6Gb + HD5870 can run off a Delta 460W PSU (DELL XPS 7100) which isn't anywhere near Corsair, why can't he use a 400W unit for the same setup but with lower graphics?

but how can it be possible
when 5870 reaches its max load ,will that PSU able to handle that
and that too for along period???

The Cooler Master PSU Calculator(eVision) states I need max 345W for 5670 (with 3 SATA, 1 PCI & 4 sticks DDR3) @ same CPU but maxed out RAM.

Thanks guys.

P.S. I meant GPUs < HD5750 & GTX Series

EDIT:
If suppose it says 397W, so will CX400W be sufficient or should I opt in for VX450W?
Someone is selling me a GTS250 512 DDR3 @ 4.5K which shoots up the Power req. I personally don't think it's a good deal, since it increases my power req while still costing too much. Any comments?

a good 400W unit will do. get the Corsair CX400W. it'll give you room for future upgrade & some overclocking.

which is gud and enough for 2sli 460 cyclone tx 850 vs hx 850 vs hx 750 vs tx 750 vs ax 750

anything above 600W should do. but anything not equal to Cooler Master, local PSU. Corsair TX650W is a good one for you. but if the other parts in your PC power hungry, TX750W.
