I am now searching for a new smart phone

I have seen Windows Phone, Seems better to me than a symbian phone

however touch screen alone is just not enough and cant live with that

Now there is Android in market, but I think its still in early stage

though it has got better applications than windows phone, I still need to know

which is better, Apple OS is good, but I still think between Android and

Windows as I need buttons rathers than fully Touch screen phone

Plzz suggest some good phone, budget 20Ks

Bond, Desi Bond!
Android has passed that 'early stage'.

what is your exact maximum budget.

HTC Legend : 22.5k
Moto milestone: 27k
Samsung Galaxy S : 28k
HTC Desire : 25k (unofficial channels)
HTC HD2 : 29k-30k

Want to get now go for Android(Samsung Galaxy S is just amazing). If you can wait, keep track of upcoming Windows Phone 7 series, they indeed look promising.

Uhu, Not Gonna Happen!
I think every new technology takes atleast 2-3 years to mature. I am no expert to make such comment but look at the iPhone for example which was first launched in Jan 2007. If you look back at that model and compare it with the latest iPhone 4 you will see that the technology behind it grew itself to bring the handset at par with other devices. No doubt it fares better in some departments but it is very hard to believe that it did not have multi-tasking in previous versions which is the very basic feature in every other smartphone...

I do not have no experience of Android based mobiles because no one in my circle has one...but see how quickly the updated versions of this OS were released:

1.1 9th Feb 2009
1.5 Cupcake 30th April 2009
1.6 Donut 15 Sep 2009
2.0-2.1 Eclair 26 Oct 2009
2.2 Froyo 20 May 2010
3.0 Gingerbread Sometime in Q4 of 2010

This shows that this OS has yet to reach a maturity level IMVHO. Symbian and Windows on the other hand have been in the market for years and have achieved stability/maturity over this period.

Dude comparing Android to Windows is an insult to Android platform!

Since you want buttons and your budget is around 20k I'd suggest go for an E series Nokia phone. However If you are willing to spare some more cash you would like to get a Motorola Milestone for which comes with a slide out keyboard. You should get it now for 23k-24k.

Oh & BTW before someone recommends you a SonyEricsson phone I would like to point out that its an expensive phone which runs on an older version of android. :p

Some wat 20, 22, max 23

just go and get HTC Legend. You will forget the need of buttons etc. And it's optical trackball does helluva job.

lol. A SE recommendation is yet to come.

This shows that this OS has yet to reach a maturity level IMVHO.

Android in its 2.1 avatar is already quite a mature OS. And 2.2 is taking it further. I'm sure 3 will blow us away.

Symbian and Windows on the other hand have been in the market for years and have achieved stability/maturity over this period.

They are matured and outdated too.

@prateek007391
I would also suggest an Eseries(if u can't live with out buttons) or Milestone.

1st SE recommendation:mrgreen::mrgreen:

SE Vivaz better then E series & milestone in terms on multimedia features and Camera is damn good....Runs on Symbian S60v5 and have lots of useful application..

If u r not in love with android then u would like SE Vivaz
If u want hardware keyboard then check Vivaz pro

Windows mobile 6.5 is outdated wait for Windows mobile 7 OS..

BTW if u can keep all these matured OS talk aside I recommend a look and Samsung Wave...Amazing device...I just loved it

With all the hoopla oer my recommendation.. i rather comply by adding the Xperia X10 to the list. And dont worry, people here who are shouting that it runs on a lower version of Android have no idea about the differences between the either of the two.
If you ask me, the differences with SEs UI is minimal.
Dont even think about the SGS ATM!! It is laggy as hell and has a host of problems.
WM is a platform if you use Microsoft Exchange a lot. No one beats Wm in that matter.

For 20k, sorry dude, you are in no mans land. Either extend your budget and get the flagship androids for 25k+ or get a symbian phone. Coz in your range there are no WM phones/ Android phones that really strike the fancy.
The legend is a nice option though.

you don't get it do you? People are getting nauseated by your posts and tweets!

Telling you for the Nth time. STOP IT!!!
About GS:
my friend is using this phone
kalpik is using it
sunny is using it.

none is facing the lag and so call host of problems. You dont' even own one. nobody buying X10 just doesn't mean that other phones have issues.

GET OVER IT!

@OP, like we all said, the last thing you need to do is take suggestion from this SE fanboy!

just ignore this post and the post I was referring to and make your decision.

actually, Milestone is still selling at 27k price point. If OS doesn't matter, then Samsung Wave is a very capable device.

Only two winmo devices that are worth getting are HTC HD2 and Samsung Omnia PRO.

What about collaboration support?

Which is better.

@desiibond- Can you STFU with your rantings about the X10? You havent even held an X10 and are blabbering away to glory. Go get yourself a linguist and practice some proper language lessons an how to conduct yourself in a gentlemanly way in a public forum and come back accordingly. Enough of your stupid rants.
And yea, i have used the GS. I can bring it home anytime and play with it. And it IS laggy. As i get time from bosch i will upload a video and show you how laggy the thing is, especially when the internal SD is filled with media files. And you, please stop your "dont even own one" policy. How many phones have you even touched?

Anyways, there arent any office file exditors for Android yet. You have to movie to Symbian or Wm to use them. If there are any, they are for the paid market which isnt available in india. The best way to view files is officesuite which comes preinstalled with a few phones. And yea, it supports all formats. AS per my information, HTC and SE support MS Exchange.

There are apps like Documents To Go and QuickOffice that can open files created in MS Office. But you need to buy the full version to edit the files. I think they cost around 30$.

But they doesn't even come close to pocketoffice, especially on HD2.

PS: if you are looking for a purely business class phone and given than your budget is 20k, my suggesiton would be B7610 Omnia PRO. one heck of a phone this is.
