hi guys.
well from few days i am experiencing these problems.

1.sometimes when i restart the system through windows.it just goes to kinda 'stand by mode'.i mean even if i move the mouse or press any button it does not show any response and remain in that condition only until i restart by pressing the restart button.

2.some games which used to work better earlier now slows down sometimes or even stutter unecessarily sometimes.

3.to open 'my computer' or 'my documents' by double clicking through desktop takes a noticeable amount of time.it takes more time to open.

Is there free space on your OS drive? Sure there are no viruses on your PC? Use CCleaner and rid your PC of all the muck and report.

yeah did almost everything.

the games also shows some strange behaviour.( in between sometimes)
i mean if it does not stutter then sometimes it behaves in a
'wavy manner'.i mean it works smooth then it becomes a bit slow (no stutter.like in slow motion for a fraction of a sec) then again to normal.like this it continues.
so it gives kinda to and fro motion to the charecter even though it is moving linearly.

checked that also but no improvement.there is no fixed or specific place where it starts.it just starts randomly at anytime.but it is not observed at the starting of any game.it occurs after some time in between.

though it is minor but still it is noticeable.

btw i am thinking of installing win7 on my 'e' drive to test .i have currently windows xp sp3.
i have never before installed a dual boot system.

can you please tell me.

1.if i install win7 on e drive then will the files present on e drive will get deleted.

2.after that if i want to uninstall win7 then what should i do?

3.is it a safe process.

now this is damn irritating and too much.people with similar system as mine can play burnout paradise without any problem.
but in my system this game as i have mentioned previously lags very often even in the low settings.

mostly the lags are observed when using a car on bike the lag is less seen.

Check system temps. kay, now please post your config. Along with OS and Service Pack. 32bit or 64?

To install win 7 is safe AFAIK, but to uninstall you will have to format, so Install in a free drive. I recommend u stick to XP as it worked for me in XP 32 bit with onboard ATI Radeon HD3300 gfx with 640MB shared DDR2 VRAM.

winxp sp3 .32 bit people with similar system posted getting 45+ fps at mid high settings.

i tried some forums and some people complained about same issue.even this solution didnt worked for me as i didnt observed anything
popping up in my device manager.

Well Quan Chi, P4 is not really fit to run that game, is it? I had a similar rig, with iball stock 400W psu only difference was Galaxy 6600 256MB PCIe.

All I can suggest to you is that you try the GameBooster.

ADD: In my rig, the game used to crash frequently although it maybe cz my 1GB memory module was faulty. Did you run memtest 86+ on your RAM?

well i dont think that might be the problem search a bit.people even with p4 runs this game at around 60 fps.

this game was claimed to be well optimised.

He had a rig with a 3.7GHz P4? Nice OC he did. Try GameBooster and check if there is any difference.

In my experience I have noticed that such tings do happen to XP after some time into the installation. Say, six months after you installed XP the PC becomes slower and progressively so. Try defragging your registry. Also, do the my comp and docs take time to open all the time? Or is it just at startup?

Other queries :
How many entries are there during startup? (start>run>msconfig>startup tab)
How many processes are running after your rig has booted up fully?

yes thats what i am saying.it takes time to open all the time even after the startup.

but the folders present inside them opens normally.
Other queries :
How many entries are there during startup? (start>run>msconfig>startup tab)
How many processes are running after your rig has booted up fully?

20entries.

From startup remove:
richvideo.exe and all other power director related processes
nerocheck.exe
realsched.exe
reader_sl.exe
groovemonitor.exe
ctfmon.exe

For disabling ctfmon, u can right click on EN button next to system tray and in settings disable it. Use tuneup to defrag your registry.

Uninstall:
Yahoo! Toolbar
Daemon Tools Toolbar
Cyberlink Power Director (if you dont need it)
Real Player (you may use VLC only instead)
Also, I recommend you uninstall MS Office 2007 and use Office 2003 or even better OpenOffice.org 3.1. Do you use Word for heavy purposes? Do u need all other office apps like powerpoint and excel? Do you make charts in Word? If no for all three, you can install AbiWord, which is a 5mb setup and is a simple and solid word processor.
