Hi Guys,

Windows XP Home edition.I have got a Kingston 4GB Data Traveler 101 model pen drive. There is a folder as "autorun Setup information 1KB" by Notepad in the pen drive whenever I open the pen drive. When I tried to delete it, it comes again and again.

What is it and how to remove it? Moreover, I cannot give a password with "Secure Traveler"

software available with the pen drive. How to give a password to this pen drive.Step-by-step

procedures?.

Windows XP Home Edition.I heard if we make a folder, there is no chance of getting infected on the pen drive. How to make such a folder?

Who told this??? :-o

Completely wrong.

Forget thos shits and use a good and updated AV. Try AVG.

If making folder on a pendrive can keep them safe every1 wud do tat.

R u saying of password lock folder?? Tat just keep safe ur data in wrong hands not from viruses. To password lock ur pendrive use the bundled software provided with ur pen drive,

But thr is no shortcut way like this for not to get infected. Use good AV, keep it updated.

I recommend AVG. Its gr8.

use autorun virus remover. it nukes autorun.inf file. You can also immunize the pendrive from further infections.
(it creates an autorun.inf folder without any programs set to autorun thereby removing any chance of another file with same name being created).

also use tweakui to disable pendrive's autorun . this prevents any virus on any pen drive to run when the pen drive is inserted to your PC.
in win 7 autorun is disabled by default

wel dude there is indeed a solution. Just create a folder n name it autorun.inf n make it readonly, hidden, system. Now when such a pendrv is inserted in an infected pc the autorun.inf file which is the key file for virus execution wil not get copy to da drv. U may find da file inside da autorun.inf folder. The *.exe or other file wil be in da pen drv delete using an av or delete manualy. Dont blindly execute those file. This is tested solution i m using dis.
