i wouldnt believe gsmarena as a reliable source they were proved to be biased in the past, rather check out mobile nations reviews(androidcentral etc)
they arent biased and are reliable

OK, if people think GSMArena is biased because it always gives good reviews to Samsung n Apple, consider this....... I would anyday prefer S4 over Z1, just because of Touchwiz, smaller dimensions & lighter in terms of weight. There are many others like me who don't want a stylish phone, just a feature packed phone (i prefer smaller dimensions too).
As far as Apples are considered, once just for a short time, GSMArena published in their blog that they had to bias the iPhone 4s vs S3 comparison, just because Tim Cook threatened them not to send a review unit again.

I find GSMArena more reliable than digit. I was sure of digit's biasing once i saw that HP's some model was rated higher than Lenovo Y500, a year ago for gaming, even though Y500 had better GPU & FHD screen.

Where there is light, there is darkness. Even if you try to do something good, some people will surely disagree with you

For companies like Sammy and Apple the reviews are biased and one has to agree with it coz they are no a small companies. Phoneareana also sometimes does the same when it comes to review but I mainly beleive two reviews ie Michel Fisher at pocketnow and MKBHD.

they dont do research properly
for eg-
the lumia 1020 shutter speed etc is only slow on the nokia camera app,if they use the native one its blazing fast but you lose some of the manual functions

plus they didnt even mention how oversatured and unnatural the samsungs sensor is,its a fact that samsungs products are tweaked to be extra colourful but real photo enthusiasts will tell you that its oversaturated and has unnatural colours

they did not mention that the G3 sensor takes time to focus for certain shots

they also said lumias panaroma wasnt good, which isnt true at all,its actually a great panaroma app and very easy to use

they didnt mention that the 5S has the fastest shutter and focus speed among all the phones and also didnt mention that the 5S photos arent that great when compared to the others, especially in low light where iphone,G3 and S5 struggle and take burst flash shots which arent exactly great ,the lumia, xperia and the oppo shine in this area and take very natural low light shots with very desirable effects, sometimes even comparable to a low end DSLR

gsmarena seems biased enough to me,rather follow threads where real users post their comparisons

same here
michael fischer is the best reviewer ive seen so far for phones !!
he actually uses the phones for a period of time sometimes and reposts his views as well

however many flaws the z2 has ,its actually got the best camera of the three though i still wouldnt recommend it
the m8 camera resolution is a put off and 3D is more gimmicky than functional but on the whole a great phone otherwise even for battery life
moto x is also a very balanced phone but lack of sd card and dual core is a put off for some(though it actually houses a very powerful krait dual core, comparable to most quad cores)

Dude forget all about Moto X but with only 9.7 GB free I don't even have a second thought on that phone. I was expecting atleast 11 GB. Good news is that LG might make the boot-loader unlocked since there is agitation going against it.

Damm still can't decide. This year was just like a meh in terms of phones.

yeah G3 is impressive though, one of the few phones to awe me since the last 2 years
love the flip case design etc
its much more convenient than samsungs flip case or even m8s dot view case which dont have much practicality for camera etc

Lol. Deciding is the hardest factor :D

It's simple though. Get the M8 if you want the best craftsmanship, best built, best speakers, and probably the best skinned Android and lots of XDA support. Needless to say you will have a sub par camera (I am not a believer in higher megapixels crap, but still hTC's Ultra Pixel is just plain nonsense), and poor GPS lock (4-5 times slower than a polycarbonate / plastic phone).

Get the G3 if you want the phone with best screen to body ratio, and also I love the design, it looks really elegant, at least to my eyes. QHD display, I hate that, but some things will be crispier, like texts and stuffs. But it has poor contrast ratio. The camera IMHO is very good, not as good as Z2 or S5, but it has OIS, which every flagship phone SHOULD have. Now about the bad part, just look at XDA, there is one kernel, and it also doesn't work nice (you will have to reflash the kernel each time you reboot the phone, WTF!), and I personally have no idea about LG's skin. Some says it's a hybrid of TouchWiz and LG's own skin, but if YouTube reviews are to believed then I found it as slow as TouchWiz! I could be wrong here though.

Moto X 2014, well, if you are on a budget then this is the phone to get. A balanced phone, with best optimization you can ever get. The screen is extremely saturated, which is a negative, but well it depends on your usage pattern. The screen to body ratio is great too, it's actually slightly smaller than S5 and has 0.1" more display size. That outer aluminium frame works as an antenna and looks sleek too. All the Moto features are nice. But that camera. In simple word, it is not worthy of a flagship camera, as simple as that. G3, Z2, S5 they all are miles better, and even G2, S4 are too. So if you can trade off the camera part, then get it, you will love it.

Z2, IMHO the best camera (I don't care about out of the phone shots, every person can do some tiny bit of editing), a nice IPS display, stereo speakers, however not that loud, IP67 certification, if that matters, a nice looking phone, however glass build, and it's a Sony after all, keeping aside my fanboysim :D But poor screen to body ratio, the phone is bloody big being a 5.1" one. And there is DoomLord in XDA, so the kernel management is checked.

Read the G3 vs Z2 review extensively, and separately too, and I think I personally am going for the Z2. There is a trade off or a drawback in each phone, just get the one which has less in number, according to your priority of course.

reasons against phones
1. Moto X: usable memory only 9.7 GB, small battery and poor camera
2. Htc one m8: Just one problem ie Camera
3. G3: Qhd display on SD 801 not great and bootloader locked
4. Z2: From what I read it is plagued with problems such as over heating, self cracking and over that Z3 already launched so it is outdated.

LG G3's skin is not at all like touchwiz, its more like the nexus 5's stock launcher with a few additions
G3 is more like a stock device and nexus like

What? From the reviews to my eyes it seem that it's a heavily skinned Android!

I'm not talking about the launcher only.

Yeah, forgot about the storage of the X, it's a let down indeed. If it came with wireless charging then always attached OTG might have been an option, but nah.

Z2 self crackling? Didn't know that!

While all the phones, HTC One E8/M8, Moto X and LG G3 is great, and all are in the league of cutting edge epecs, OP should now decide which one to buy only on the basis of pure looks.

Small variations in specs doesn't matter and what matters in the end is that first attraction you had when you first saw the phone. For me for eg, the design of HTC One M8 with its front speaker grill and its back, captivated me. And now it won't matter if a phone with better specs comes along since M8 had the best design. And in the long run, the satisfaction of owing a phone which was love at first sight will far exceed than the one which have one more amp of power.

Similarly doesn't matter if Moto X 2nd gen have better specs than Nexus 5, but the design of Nexus 5 captivated me such that owing Moto X 2nd gen won't be the same as owning a Nexus 5 even if it's a year old now.

But that's just me. I don't know whether I was able to explain clearly.

makes perfect sense!!
never buy phones purely on specs etc
the "feel" of the phone also matters!!

Thanks. LG's skin looks same as Samsung's, extremely heavy!
