Yahoo Messenger Problem

I and my friend are having some problem with Yahoo msgr lately.

Even after I sign out, my friends see me as online and send messages.
Yahoo stores these messages and gives me the msgs when i sign in next time. The only problem is I am shown online even after I sign out.

This also is happening to others. Is this because of the Beta version or is it happening to all Y! Msgr users?

I am not using the BETA, things work fine for me.

I don't know what's causing this but I have a Beta version of Yahoo with me and it works fine. BUT... I have seen my friends complain of this issue where I think I see them online but they aren't.

One thing which occurs to me is that maybe the Yahoo servers are getting erratic.

Note: This problem doesn't necessarily occur on the Beta version of the messenger. I've seen it happen on an earlier version of the messenger as well.

i too have similar one , just that when i logout my Y! performs an illegal operation : P

one solution :get invisible before you logout

i kno...its a yahoo thing...u must hav seen how quicky the messenger signs out...but actually the server recognises that much l8r...

this happened to me too... i use the BETA version
check ur connection settings... if it is "Firewall with no proxies".... change it to "No proxies".... this is how i got rid of the problem.....

might work for you too....

common problem with beta version and with firewalls too.

A clever workaround:
# add yourself to your friendlist
# before signing out, change your status to "invisible"
# wait for a min or two, till you see yourself signing out
# then peacefully sign out.

We ppl, behind firewall, use it everytime. It works !

@ before signing out, change your status into mobile if u have .
@ dont use automatic log in

some times it happend when u use internet through proxy
