Does it hibernate while you are working or when totally idle for some period?

it only hibernates when it resumes from hibernation and remains totally idle, actually i am using APC software controlled UPS, system will be hibernated when power goes off, and it will automatically on & resumes working (downloading etc.) when power restored but the problem is if i doesn't touch mouse or keyboard at least one time after resuming, it hibernates again after 7 or 8 minutes. if i just moved my mouse once, it will work perfectly

also i checked auto hibernate sets to never

also i checked auto hibernate sets to never

1. Click 'Start' > 'Control Panel'
2. Click 'Power Options'
3. Click 'Hibernate' tab > check 'Enable hibernation' > then click 'Apply'
4. Click 'APM' tab >check 'Enable Advanced Power Management support' and click 'Apply'
5. Click 'Power Schemes' and choose a time period in 'System hibernates' box
6. Click Apply>OK

Hey..It will hibernate after specified Idle time. If not required, then choose option 'Never' in all options. Did you check it out?

If this is done, then there is no problem in 'Hibernate' settings in Windows XP. I guess, it has to do something with the APC Software. Check out the settings in APC Power chute software. Did you install APC Power Chute personal edition software or not?

Guys..did you try disabling Hibernation?

Start>Control Panel>Power Options
>Hibernate tab> Uncheck 'Enable hibernation'?

Does your problem exists even after disabling hibernation?

Please do give feedback.

I think, it is a feature in XP and 2000 rather then specific problem with our computers. may be a registry hack will do, just we have to find that
