My XP 2nd drive is not opening - giving the "open with" option while trying to open the drive. Unable to open even I select IExplorer option.
Possible virus action - symantec corporate found few virus & deleted, Avg unable to find any.

Anybody can give any suggestion ??

ok...
1.enable the view of hidden files.....
to do so ...click Tools>Folder Options click the view tab and select "Show hidden files and folders" option..
also unselect "Hide extensions of know types" ...
press apply
then ok and close the dialog
2.Now select the Folders button in the explorer
A left pan opens...now navigate to the drive affected via it..
you will see a file called "autorun.inf" in the root of the drive
delete it
3.Log off
4.Post the result here

You could also search for the file but you must enable the search hidden files and folders option
You could also do it by Command Prompt...:)

To do so in command prompt...
open cmd prompt ..go to the drive by

typing the drive letter and

ex:
Code:
D:
then issue
Code:
attrib -h -s autorun.inf
del autorun.inf

While doing as u suggested - the autorun.inf is not showing, may be symantec has already deleted tht, but found the show hidden file - option is getting off after I go through the explorer. from dos it's showing access is denied.

ok..
there is still virus active..
other wise the option would not have re enabled itself..
search for the virus name given by symantec in google and you might get the solution...
