I changed my extra hdd from 80 gb to a 250 gb SATA hdd using ide to sata convetor.
Since then I see a delay of 25 sec on booting up, what is causing this delay.

The IDE to SATA convertor is causing the delay. This is because the Hard Disk will run at IDE speed only, because IDE port cannot go faster than 133 Mbps (theoretical). Also, i guess the convertor is eating up some time in converting from SATA to IDE.

But My OS is loaded on another 80Gb disk not on 250 sata.
I will unplug the sata & see if that boots up normally the IDE hdd & will report back here.

Make sure your converter is set as Master. A slave drive without a master on the same port will cause issues on certain chipsets... especially NF4. I'd suggest you get rid of the SATA drive and the converter. Get a normal 250GB IDE drive instead. Will run a lot faster than the setup you are currently on.
