XP blocks Net

Hiiiiiiiii,

I got both Win98SE and WinXP Professional install in my PC.The problem is that whenever i start 'Opera 7.06' (while Online) or 'Internet Explorer 6' using WinXP it does not open any page at all! On the other side , I got Opera '7.03' and 'Internet Explorer 5' which runs fine on Win98SE
Could u tell me why is it so?How can i fix this problem?Please describe in details..!

well first of all check the connection settings in I.E
check up if they are configured properly
most browsers use teh I.E connection settings to connet to the internet

If ur on the a network check the network settings but if u r on a modem then check the connection setting in ie u shud b up and running in no time at all.

I have default settings in WinXP,nothing is changed.
I'm confused if I change something in XP their may b another problem occur.really XP sucks in my case wherever Win98SE rocks in every field.I never face such problems in Win98SE..

Well you would say he same thing if it happens under win98.
Anyways check your browsers proxy settings.Also try clearing the browser cache.
